Three Preludes (2001) - Abigail Kegel
Walsh, flute; Jared Elder, guitar - These Preludes are a
transcription from the composer's Preludes for English Horn and
Guitar. Two slow, rubato preludes frame a fast, rhythmic, Spanish
sounding prelude. All have lyrical melodies and a strong tonal
sense.
Second prize in the 2007 Co-op Press Recording
Competition was awarded to Abigail Kegel Walsh and Jared Elder. Walsh
is currently on the flute faculty of the Hartt School as an adjunct
instructor, as well as the Vernon Music and Arts Center. Elder is

Sonatina (1970) - Jill Marchione,
oboe; Kimberly Buchar Kelley, bassoon
- A slow introduction gives way to
a spritely allegro in the first movement with lots of
syncopation. An allegretto in mainly 5/8 with a lot of imitation
creates contrast in the second movement. The allegro final
movement is rhythmic and playful with a short recapitulation of
the first movement's slow introduction.

Recording Competitionwas awarded to Jill Marchione and Kimberly Buchar
Kelley. Ms. Marchione performs regularly with the Harrisburg Symphony
and Opera, Theatre Harrisburg, and the Allegro Chamber Orchestra of
