Four Poems
(2007) (Soprano. Flute, Bb Clarinet, and Piano) is a dramatic setting
of four Romantic poems by Walt Whitman, Ella Wheeler Wilcox, Robert
Frost, and Edgar Allan Poe. While the music is tonal, the tonality is
constantly shifting. The music reflects the meaning of the text by
setting the mood and through the use of word painting. There is some
brief narration that can be performed by the soprano or by the soprano
with optional audience participation. It was been recorded by Conundrum
on the CD Collage. Duration 16:00
