I. Wendy – The sections of the piece that are in 4/4 depict Wendy as a beautiful young lady who still is child-like in her love of adventure and her belief in magical words. As the oldest of the Darling children, she also feels a sense of responsibility to protect her brothers and to obey her parents. The 3/4 section represents this side of Wendy's personality.

II. Tinkerbell – Tinkerbell is always flying from place to place and the use of rapid 6/8 meter, staccato and pizzicato depict Tinkerbell in flight. She is also jealous of Wendy, and flaps her wings rapidly to inform Peter Pan of her feelings. The tremolo represents Tinkerbell flapping her wings.

III. Captain Hook – The minor key and slow tempo represent the sinister Captain Hook. His relentless pursuit of the crocodile that bit off his hand and of Peter Pan is represented by the repeated twelve measure melodic idea. It grows in intensity each time it repeats reflecting Hook's determination.

IV. Peter Pan – The Maestoso section represents Peter as the leader of the boys in Never-never-land. It reflects both the bravery and confidence of Peter Pan. The Allegro section represents the playful Peter that wants to be a boy forever.
